Fall Beehive Preparation 2025 - Short Course

Led by Master Beekeeper Christopher Kelly of Promise Land Apiaries, this course draws on over 45 years of sustainable, science-based beekeeping expertise. This course will teach you essential fall management techniques necessary to prepare your hives for the fall and winter months on Long Island.

This short course is ideal for all levels of experienced beekeepers who are committed to natural, survivor-stock beekeeping and want to avoid losing their hives over winter. Through hands-on demonstrations and practical guidance, you’ll gain the confidence to make informed decisions that prioritize hive health over honey yield. This short course includes a series of three in person classes at Breeze Hill Farms on September 4th, September 18th, and October 2nd at 5:30pm - 7:00pm. Each class will be a lecture followed by a hands-on activity.

All attendees must bring their own bee gear and smoker.
